The Business Advisory Council for Southeast Europe and Eurasia
(BAC SEE) selected new leadership today in Istanbul, Turkey to head up the
Council for an interim period of reorganization. The two Co-Chairmen
are Alexander Munteanu (of Moldova and Ukraine) and Ambassador Victor
Jackovich (of the United States). Munteanu is senior manager at Dragon
Capital in Kiev, Ukraine. Jackovich is CEO of Jackovich International and
a former U.S. Ambassador to several countries.
The Business Advisory Council is an association of some 45
independent businessmen from the regions and beyond, who provide technical
expertise and advice to international organizations, financial institutions,
individual governments and others.
The outgoing Co-Chairman Halil Kulluk (of Turkey) was praised for
his stewardship of the Council at a particularly critical time of serious
challenges in both Europe and Eurasia. Kulluk had co-chaired the Council
with Munteanu, who consented to continue in that capacity, now with Jackovich.
At the meeting, members of the Council also discussed updates
to the organizational structure and recommendations for future activities.
The Council is expected to meet again in late November in Vienna,
Austria, on the margins of the Vienna Economic Forum (VEF), with which the BAC
SEE signed a partnership agreement in 2010.
